Osmington Day 5
Well it had to eventually arrive, although I don't quite think the children are ready to go home. Leaving day and everything is packed into one small room, we've had breakfast and it is almost time for activities.
The children have had an amazing experience, although it is not over yet. Quad biking and Jacob's ladder for some, indoor climbing and zip wire for others. What a final morning!!!
See you all later, but not until we've had lots more fun and overcome a few more challenges.

Osmington Day 4 - Sorry it's late!
Bags packed (mostly), children asleep (mostly) and teachers
exhausted (completely)! Our final night in Osmington and wow how the week has
flown! We have had another amazing day today, beach walking, zip wire, quad
biking, abseiling, climbing, sensory trail and problem solving were all on
offer and this evening brought the disco! Gladrags on, the children danced the
night away to such classic dances as YMCA and Cotton Eyed Joe. It was also great to
see them boogieing to tunes we had never heard before! The children enjoyed the
range of activities and threw themselves into the different sessions and showed
great determination to challenge themselves. We have been so impressed by their
sense of fun and eagerness to succeed, one of the quad bike groups managed to
beat the camp record of with 8 children completing the course without touching
the tyres or crashing! The children have all pushed themselves out of their comfort zone which is what it is all about. We were very proud! See you tomorrow to hear the
adventures first hand!!

Osmington Day 3
The weather has been different – rain, wind and sun but not
in that order!!!!
This morning we all did different activities such as
abseiling, orienteering, problem solving and Jacob’s ladder which were good fun
but then, after lunch we all went on a major hike together. One of the
highlights was the stop at the ice cream shop where, despite the rain, we
enjoyed different flavours although the Turkish delight ran out before the
teachers got to it! Rain definitely did not stop play as we rambled across the
coastal paths hearing tales of smugglers and King George. The waves were
crashing and the rain was horizontal as we climbed yet another hill – there
seem to lots locally unlike Fareham! Tonight’s activity was Cluedo where the
children interviewed “witnesses” and solved the crime! All were ready for bed and
even remembered to clean their teeth!! All are looking for another action
packed day tomorrow!!

Osmington day 2
Trapeze if a personal favourite of ours, where the children have to challenge themselves to the limit and conquer their fears. Climbing up a telegraph pole on top of a windy hill and leaping into the sky would turn most people green, but every single one of the children gave it their all. They loved it.
There is brand new tunnel trail complex in Osmington this year. The children crawled through both large and small tunnels exploring the underground complex. The fabled light switch and tunnel to the beach seemed to elude them this time but they had lots of fun none the less.
Giant swing has to be one of the absolute highlights for the group. Strapped in in tandem, two children are hauled by everyone else high into the air and then propelled into a massive swinging arc. In all likelyhood, you would have heard the screams in Fareham.
Sensory trail involved blindfolds, obsticles and mud. Loads of mud. Oh how the teachers enjoyed that one!
An action packed day of excitement. More to come tomorrow. The children are in bed and sleeping (mostly). More updates tomorrow. Thanks.

Osmington 2014 Day 1
So we have arrived safely to a wet but still Osmington Bay.
The children are all very excited and looking forward to an action packed day
tomorrow. We have had a tour and eaten a hearty dinner and are now looking
forward to campfire (which is unfortunately indoors due to the weather). The accommodation
is excellent, set up on the hill and we have a great view of Portland. (France
as the instructors tell the children.) Check back tomorrow for a bigger update and
some pics. Remember to leave comments if you wish! Hope you’re having a quiet
night, someone has to be………..
Osmington Bay 2014!!!!
