Year 5/6 competed in the annual pancake tossing contest today to see who would hold the glorious trophy of the Golden Frying Pan for the year. It was a fearsomely contested event, with a strong drive from Class 9 lead by the rapid Saffron and |Class 11 were hot on their heels. However, when it comes to flipping and running there was only ever going to be one winner! THE MIGHTY CLASS 10!!!!!!!!! From Josh at the start to Mustafa at the end, our amazing pancake heroes were steady flippers and quick runners to a child. Well done Class 10, you did great!!!

Building the Solar System
Solar System
Our project was to make a solar system, to scale using a
beanbag as the sun and also using a roll of toilet paper, from the staff
toilets, which represents the distance from the sun to Neptune (the furthest
planet from the sun).
We had a sheet of paper that had the distance from the
sun in million km and it also said the average diameter of the planets in km. We
thought that every square of toilet roll represented 60,000,000km. It turned
out perfectly going into 75 squares of toilet paper with Neptune at the end.
We marked out the planets and went to find objects that
were about the right size and placed them on the corresponding marks.
Then Mr Stubbs came out and took our photo.
We think that this project went very well seeing as we
only had 1 hour to complete the project!!
