We had a fantastic evacuation day where everyone got into the right spirit. It was lots of fun and the children learnt a lot about the realities of homefront Britain during WW2. A huge thank you to the people who volunteered their time to make the day so successful - Mr and Mrs Stubbs (Snr) who built air raid shelters and made hand puppets and Mr Osborne who brought his beautiful old bus for the children to enjoy.

Redlands V Uplands
What a fantastic start to the football fixtures. Redlands took on Uplands on Wednesday and remained unbeaten throughout.
Redlands A v Uplands A
A real battle saw this game end in a deserved 1-1 draw. A great strike from the Uplands striker, with the aid of a slight deflection, resulted in the ball flying past Sam in goal. However, Redlands very own mole, Sam F, burrowed his way repeatedly through the Uplands defence and was eventually rewarded with a well taken equaliser.
Man of the match: Sam F
Final Score 1-1
Redlands B v Uplands B
Another close battle, as a goal mouth scramble left a shot bobbling past David in goal to give Uplands the lead. Redlands went ahead after Seamus struck twice with great finishes, showing excellent determination to create opportunities in front of goal. Uplands deservedly drew level again in the dying stages with a fine header that left David no chance.
Man of the match: Seamus
Final Score 2-2
Redlands B v Uplands A
A magnificent result in this game as Redlands B came very close to defeating Uplands A team. Redlands displayed great determination and bravery to put their bodies on the line and keep Uplands at bay. The game saw the best goal of the fixture, scored by Ryan T. Spinning away with the loose ball, Ryan charged towards the goal before dispatching an unstoppable shot high into the net to leave the Uplands keeper with no chance. Just as Redlands were dreaming of a famous victory, Uplands drew level and that is how it ended up. A great effort from the B team to hold Uplands A!
Man of the match: Ryan T
Final Score 1-1
Redlands A v Uplands B
Despite showing a little complacency, Redlands A saw off Uplands B in another thrilling fixture. Sam F was unlucky not to add to his tally for the afternoon as he hit the post twice in consecutive shots. Uplands had plenty of chances of their own, but the telling touch was provided by Sydney. As the ball fell in the box he placed a smart half volley past the Uplands' keeper. It was a fine finish but not quite as good a celebration. The tall defender ran back to the half way line before producing what could only be described as a roly poly on the centre spot. More work needed on our celebrations I think.
Man of the match: Sydney
Final Score 1 nil to Redlands
So a fantastic fixture for Redlands to remain undefeated. Well done to all the players, for our first game it was an exceptional effort.

A flavour of Osmington Bay
Here is a random selection of photographs from Osmington Bay 2013. I am still sifting through the masses of photos and videos collected, but I hope this gives you an idea of the action packed and hilarious week we had!

Welcome Home!
Wow what an amazing week we've had! People have really challenged themselves and shown huge amounts of resilience when walking up the hill yet again or facing problem solving in a howling gale!!!! BUT we have laughed at so many funny things and created superb puns related to cows on the hike as well as finding pirate gems on the beach yesterday!
The behaviour of everyone was impeccable and people commented on how polite and friendly we were as a group - well done everyone we are proud of you!!
A huge thanks to Mr Stubbs for organising such a smooth running residential and to Mrs Corbin for abandoning her own family to come with us!
Sleep well and see you on Monday!
